DIY Guide to Shower Enclosure Installation

A shower enclosure can be a great way to renovate and beautify your bathroom. We will give you the best advice and tips on how to install a cubicle shower without a professional.

It may prove more difficult than you think to install it yourself. It is better to hire a professional plumber to do it. If you are on a budget or looking to save money on renovations, our guide can help you install it yourself.

What is a Glass Shower Enclosure?

It is a shower enclosure that confines the water to the area. It is designed to separate the dry and wet areas. Your bathroom will remain clean, dry, and hygienic.

We offer a wide range of shower enclosures including Quadrant, Offset Quadrant and Rectangular. We also have walk-in enclosures.

Before we get to the guide, let's look at the tools and equipment needed for it.

You will need to have the tools and equipment for the installation. These are the items that you will need for your project:

  • Glass shower doors
  • Handles
  • Glass panes
  • Panel frames
  • Shower Base
  • Waste Trap
  • Shower valve
  • Silicone adhesive
  • If you don't have a riser set, you will need to purchase one.
  • Cement
  • Sand construction
  • PVA glue

Before you start

Always unpack your shower enclosure when it arrives. Before you begin the installation process, make sure to inspect for damaged or missing parts.

Get started with a shower base

Before you can move on to the cubicle, it is important that you start with the base. There are many materials available for shower trays. Stone resin trays are strong and durable, and they resist scratches. These trays are a great choice for bathrooms with En-suite bathrooms. Let's start by choosing the one that you like.

Steps Without a Riser Kit

1. With equal proportions, draw the boundaries of your floor base. Mark the waste spot in the same way.

2. Use a jigsaw to drill a hole in the floor.

3. For the future, make sure you have enough access points to allow you to access the shower waste pipe.

4. To ensure waterproofing, connect the shower base to the waste line using rubber seals.

5. Spread the PVA solution over the surface within the designated area.

6. Spread a layer of concrete on the spot you have specified.

7. Place the tray on the cement mixture and level it with a spirit level.

8. Attach the shower waste pipe to the outlet and let it dry for 24 hours.

9. Apply silicone sealant to the edges of the tray.

Steps with Riser kit

1. Place the tray and the trap in the centre of the tile.

2. For fixing brackets, drill holes in the floor at 2mm from the edges.

3. Place the waste in the shower tray.

4. Remove one side of the adhesive pad and join the led assemblies. For each leg, repeat the process.

5. For attaching the Velcro strip, place panel brackets 5mm from the edges.

6. Attach the leg assemblies to the tray by sealing them with sealant.

7. Connect the waste pipe to the shower tray and place it at the correct level.

8. Attach the panel brackets by removing the protective film.

Shower doors and panels

1. The channels should be placed at the corner of your tray. This is where the panels are going to be attached.

2. For fixing the channels to the wall, drill holes in the walls.

3. The immovable panel should be attached to the channel opposite the channel in which the door will be installed.

4. Place the door panel on its opposite side.

5. After positioning the panels on the tray's outside edges, fix them.

6. Attach the handle to your door.

7. Seal the enclosure's outer edges with sealant.

Your Shower Enclosure Is Now Ready
